Travertin Onyx, the signature stone of 2026

The origin, properties and installation of Travertin Onyx, Amarchy's flagship collection this year. Large format, honed finish, golden veining.

A stone selected quarry by quarry

The Travertin Onyx we offer comes from quarries selected in person by the Amarchy team. Every block is inspected for even veining, the absence of fractures and purity of colour.

Travertine is a sedimentary limestone with soft veining: it gives floors a mineral warmth all of its own.

Technical specifications

The Travertin Onyx data sheet, as we present it at the showroom.

  • Standard format: 80×180 cm
  • Made-to-order format: up to 120×240 cm
  • Finishes available: honed or brushed
  • Thickness: 12 mm
  • Density: 2.4 g/cm³
  • Compatible with underfloor heating

Installation and laying plan

Travertin Onyx is laid with a minimal joint of 1 to 2 mm, to bring out the continuity of the veining.

The laying plan is worked out beforehand: we number every slab in the workshop so that the veins follow on from one slab to the next.

Care

A fluorinated water-repellent treatment is applied when the stone is laid; after that, warm soapy water is all it needs. The treatment is renewed every 3 to 5 years, depending on use.

Never use acidic products, such as standard limescale removers.

Inspiration

Travertin Onyx works particularly well in four settings.

  • Spacious living rooms
  • Hammams, with a reinforced treatment
  • Monolithic staircases
  • Fireplace cladding
