Which material for which room?
Footfall, moisture, sun, slip risk: the right choice starts with how the room is used. Here are our recommendations, space by space.

- 03BathroomWalk-in showers and full-height walls: marble with a water-repellent treatment, glazed zellige, fine porcelain in large slabs.
- 04KitchenA porcelain floor, a zellige splashback, a fine porcelain worktop. Marble is sensitive to acids and best avoided for worktops.
