Marble, timeless prestige.

Unique veins, timeless prestige. A metamorphic limestone, marble is a byword for prestige. Every slab is unique. Amarchy works with Italian marbles (Carrara, Calacatta) and Spanish marbles (Crema Marfil, Marquina) and, for warm tones, with travertine from Morocco.

01 — Technical properties

Technical data for marble.

Unrivalled in beauty, marble is the material of statement rooms, basins and staircases. It develops a patina over time: that is a sought-after characteristic, not a flaw.

It is, however, sensitive to acids (lemon, vinegar): we advise against it for kitchen worktops. In our showroom comparison chart it is the most expensive material and one of the most demanding to care for.

03 — Frequently asked questions

About marble.

How do you care for marble?
With soapy water day to day. Avoid acidic products (vinegar, limescale remover). Crystallisation or a wax protects the surface, depending on exposure.
Is marble durable in a bathroom?
Yes, when it has a water-repellent treatment. Its natural patina becomes an aesthetic asset. Simply avoid prolonged contact with coloured cosmetics.
Where does the marble come from?
Carrara and Calacatta from Italy for the whites, Marquina from Spain for the blacks, Crema Marfil for the beiges, and travertine from Morocco for warm tones.
